Aviva Canada welcomes the auto insurance system review announced today by Minister Perry Trimper

July 4, 2017 (Toronto, ON) – The following is a media statement from Greg Somerville, President and CEO at Aviva Canada.

“Now is the time to put the brakes on the increasing cost of insurance in NL. Aviva believes consumers should be entitled to an auto insurance system which provides them with products and services at an affordable price, yet Newfoundland and Labrador drivers pay $1,090 annually for auto insurance, the highest premium in the Atlantic Region.  We are pleased that the Public Utilities Board (PUB) will oversee this review and that Service NL will review other issues, including the rate setting process, and we look forward to participating in the public consultation process to ensure this system is in place by the fall of 2018.”
